Another Saturday, another challeneg on SCS

For todays inspiration challenge over on SCS! And the sketch challenge for the week- I turned it sideways.
Today: we got to browse a wonderful site that had my style of art!!
I chose this piece to be inspired by: http://www.close2myart.com/shoppingcart/products/Tulip-Art-Print.html

For my card. I decided to break out my pigment powders. I stamped the flowers in red staz-on then painted away. The look was shiny but a bit flat, so I added depth with my prismas and then re- stamped the image again on top of the coloring. The flower image is an old old SU set : in full bloom. The writing is CHF scripty words. I used my oval nesties, and added pearl bling in the corner. The paper is a dcwv stack- I was using up scraps again.
I really like the combination of reds and dark pinks. Great challenge Anne!!!

SC 366 I am nervous today

This card is for today's Sketch challenge over on SCS. I love those challenges. Plus I am stuck at home waiting to find out if I got a job. I am trying to keep my brain super busy so I can quit analyzing what I said and should have said yesterday on my job interview.
On to the deets:
I used a mat stack from DCWV: Garden party I just randomly tore out the first 3 patterns and figured I would go from there. I brike out my new lifestyle nestie type circles cutters. I embossed the long panel with a sizzix A2. I punched out the flowers at the bottom and added the pearls. And the image is Inkadinkadoo, colored with the BG family of copics.

Overall it is a busy layout. But I think I like it. It would be a great birthday card.

Iced In!!! Challenge day

We are Iced in Again today! Although I am looking forward to school starting up again, I am enjoying the time at home with my girls!

Ever since my dear friend Anne showed me the blog challenges I am hooked---- And a bit overwhelmed. It seems that at any given moment there are 900 Million challenges to choose from. I managed to combine 5 in this card- and I really Don't see how people fit in more. I did this weeks Sketch from Pricilla's, The flowers from basic Grey, P10 #5 using punches, and DYSU #4 Patterned paper.

The main image came from my friend, It is by treehouse. Lots of paisley and flowers. The ink was all Pallette. I used the Gaugin, Lautrec, and Morisot families. All The paper is Basic Grey, Phoebe line. I put Bazzill flowers behind the main image and massively popped it up with cardboard. Stamped the flowers and colored with copics. I guess I could include this on the copic challenge too. :-P
Finished with a punched panel and brads.
I had fun making this. May go do more..... Take care and stay warm out there!!!

Very Busy Play Date!

This is the final card I made at Anne's house. It is based on a couple blog challenges.

She has these totally cool stamps that she got at CHA last year. They fit the nestie dies. I am in love with these stamps!!!
I couldn't tell you the name of where to get them.

I used an old paper stack from TAC that is most likely retired.

Finished it off with a button to match the inspiration challenge. This is a very big fluffy card.

Thanks for looking, and I do think I am hooked on the blog challenges.
This is the inspiration piece, I also Did the Sketch challenge over on Midnight Madness, its a fun challenge...

After waking up too early this morning I was in the mood to color. This week's challenges aided me in that quest...
I decided to combine all three of my favorite challenges- CC253, SC263, and IC 215
CC was for Pretty in Pink, Chocolate chip and Elegant Eggplant. The sketch was fabulous, and the inspiration challenge Nell Hills left me inspired. I chose this book cover, as I was craving as much color as possible... It must be because it has been so cold and dreary here lately. I like the way this turned out, and I had a lot of fun making it.

Here are more pictures of it.
This is the front view... I used Stampin up's In full bloom, a great set! I also used my A2 embossing folder for the houndstooth. I wasn't sure about this at first, but I like the way it combined with the flowers. I used Chocolate chip as my base card, I layered the embossed eggplant over it and used pretty in pink behind my image. The strip on the bottom is both eggplant and pink, both embossed in Houndstooth. I also used my new favorite technique which I learned in the copics class I attended- I colored my ribbon and eyelets with my markers to get an exact match in colors. I love doing that. The ribbon was a pale pink that I colored dark brown, and the eyelets were a pea green that I colored purple. The friends was stamped in Cornish Heritage Farms scripty words.

To make the main image I used the masking technique, I stamped the main center flower and then masked it to stamp the smaller purple flowers. I also stamped first in scratch paper to make the purple flowers lighter. I then stamped the leaves. Image was colored with my copics, I just mixed together a bunch of pinks and purples. The one bit I like is, I outlined the image in yellow 11 instead of a gray. I think it adds dimension but is also brighter than the gray and I wanted bright, like they were lit from behind. I think I achieved this. I also popped the main image up on dimensionals. I just used a thick piece of cardboard behind it.

This is the inside view of the card. I just stamped in Pretty in pink and eggplant. Stamping images on top of each other for the 3-d look

Well, this was my first official post and I hope you liked it.
